I WISH I HAD FREE SHS DURING MY YOUTHFUL DAYS—-REVEREND RANSFORD OBENG.

Reverend Ransford Obeng, General Overseer of Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC)

The General Overseer of Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC), Reverend Ransford Obeng says he wished he had the opportunity of entering senior high school during his youthful days after completing what is now Junior High School.

According to the famous preacher in Kumasi, he passed what was termed in his time “common entrance” examinations about four times but had no one helping him to pay fees in pursuing higher education.

This, he noted forced him to stop schooling after he had finished his middle school education.

Speaking to the church’s congregation last week Sunday, a teary Reverend Obeng said he wished the government at that time had the vision to implement the free SHS policy as introduced by the NPP government.

“When I see the current youth enjoying free SHS I become happy and at times too i become teary because I wish I had same to enjoy having passed common entrance four times with no one cater for me after middle school”, a teary Reverend Obeng said.

COMMENDATION:
The CCC vision carrier commended the NPP and the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for boldly implementing the free SHS program despite the doubts some people had against the policy.

According to him, every one who would try stepping out to do something visionary would face opposition from either within or without.

He said CCC, an English assembly before it gained attention from students and residents of Kumasi was said to collapse because it dared carrying its activities in the English language.

Reverend Obeng said he had to battle the thoughts and views of some people who stressed the idea won’t work.

He noted that once one has a clear vision and prays to God about it nothing shall be able to stop its implementation.

“Just like the start of this church many said free SHS policy would not work but all can see that the policy has worked just as CCC an english language church keeps working and getting souls into the Kingdom of God”, the CCC leader posited.

APPEAL:
Reverend Obeng urged CCC members to support the government no matter their political leanings with prayers to ensure the success of the free SHS policy.

He noted every citizen and family would gain from the policy since an educated society hastens development in a country.

Reverend Obeng asked the people of Ghana to support policies that are good so that the government would be encouraged to do more of such.

The CCC leader called on the public to strive to live at peace with all men and ensure they make the festive season of  Christmas worth celebrating since its object is Christ Jesus, the Prince of Peace.

“The elections are over and each of us has a responsibility to ensure he lives at peace with his neighbour despite differences they may have had before the elections so that together we can celebrate Christ Jesus who is the object of  Christmas”, Rev Obeng noted.
