I have saved BOST over 10 million cedis since April, 2014-BOST MD

Kingsley-Awuah-DarkoThe Bulk Oil Storage and Transport Company is excited over modest gains the company claims to have made between April, 2014 and May 2015.

On a tour of BOST depots across the country, BOST MD; Kingsley Awuah Darko explained several successes attained by BOST since April last year under his leadership.

He told the Petroleum, Oil and gas minister, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah as well as some journalists that the company’s Accra depot alone has “increased capacity utilization from 27% to 56%, thus increasing the company’s revenues”.

“The depot has also discharged 90 vessels since April, 2014”.

The BOST MD who has been the centre of controversy over issues bordering on mismanagement also discloses the company has seen over 100% increase in the number of Bulk Road Vehicles dispatched since April last year.

He says certain decisions and practices of the company under his leadership have saved BOST over GHC 10 million over the period.

According to a document spelling out the company’s gains, the company has been able to operate depots in line with international best practice, manage the depots to ensure product integrity and reduce storage related product loses to acceptable levels. The company also says it has maintained the depots and equipment in optimal conditions to achieve maximum utilization and minimum downtime as well as upgraded BOST’s depots across the country.

The excited minister for Petroleum, Oil and gas also promised the MD government’s unflinching support towards strengthening BOST to make it relevant to the country’s petroleum needs.
