I became a pastor out of frustration – Ofori Amponsah

Failed man of God, Ofori Amponsah has rendered an unqualified to people he said were misled by his actions.

According to him, he was never ordained a pastor but sought solace in the work of God due to frustrations after his failed musical career.

“I was not a pastor because I was never ordained; I just believed in God and decided to do his work”, he told Deloris Frimpong Manso on the Delay show over the weekend.

The ‘Otoolege’ hit singer announced that he was now a pastor and in fact built his own congregation, Family of Faith and Love in 2012.

He was largely regarded as a minister of the gospel and granted media interviews as such.

Ofori Amponsah had vowed then not to do secular music and even went ahead warn radio stations not to play his songs which, in his opinion, will take people to hell.

So his quick u-turn came as a shock, especially to his church members who believed strongly in his ministry.

But Ofori Amponsah says though he felt the spirit of God on him; he erred in rushing into God’s ministry.

“I became a pastor through frustration because the pain was too much so I didn’t take a right decision”, he added.

The highlife musician maintained that, he still has the urge to do the work of God but is waiting for the right time.

“I still hold onto my belief in God but the time is not right. I just need to redirect and listen to God for the direction”, Ofori Amponsah opined.
