High GDP shows potency of economy-Dr. Gideon Boako

Ghana Politics News-The Economic advisor to the Vice-President of Ghana, Dr Gideon Boako has rubbished claims from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) that having a good gross domestic product rating (GDP) is of no use if people do not have money to spend.

Addressing some fresh members of the NPP student wing (TESCON) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) during an orientation program by the Youth Wing of the party, Dr Boako said a high GDP rate in a country tells you how robust and potent that economy is.

The GDP, he noted is an indication of how prudent your economic policies are playing out on the market either local or foreign.

He stressed many countries continue to enjoy fruitful trade partnerships with the best economies of the world because of the potency of their GDP ratings.

‘’Those who argue that we don’t eat GDP are only exhibiting laziness in their analysis because a good GDP goes to show how strong, resilient and potent your economy is in the league of Nations’’, Dr Boako passionately stressed.

JOBS:

Dr Boako intimated the desire of the Nana Addo government is to create employment opportunities for all in the country.

Initiatives such as the NABCO module, the National Entrepreneurship Initiative Program (NEIP), Youth in Afforestation  and many others, the Economic Advisor noted are avenues that is employing almost 400, 000 people.

Other initiatives such as the one district one factory and one village one dam and others, Dr Boako stressed will also offer job opportunities for all in the country when it comes on stream and reaches its peak.

He urged the students to be hopeful of the future and called for support for the NPP government as it pulls through all the policy interventions it promised before the elections in 2016.

‘’I am with the firmest conviction that before Nana Addo ends his first four year term many of your predecessors and your selves will have available opportunity to ply your trade or profession so that you could help in the total development of this country’’, Dr Boako posited.

OTHER SPEAKERS:

Speaking later at the forum, Justin Kodua, Chief Executive of the Youth Employment Agency assured the students of opportunities at the YEA.

He revealed the Agency was fine tuning many other employment generating modules so that it can roll out and get many of the youth on board.

Francis Adomako, Ashanti Regional Organizer of the NPP urged the NPP student-wing to arm themselves with information about the programs their choicest party is implementing so they could counteract the propaganda the NDC is seeking to unleash to deceive undecided voters.

Nelson Owusu Ansah, Ashanti Youth Organizer of the NPP rallied the student wing to remain focused on their education so they come out with better grades to help in nation building.

Chairing the event, Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, Board Chairman- National Sports Authority (NSA) encouraged the students to stay solid behind the NPP as the President and government prosecutes the agenda for jobs for all.

Present at the event were many NPP affiliate groups including the vibrant Loyal Ladies led by its group captain for Ashanti,Martha Koduah.
