Gushegu: Paramount Chief averts violence over road construction

MCE for Gushegu; Issah Musah

Information available to www.rawgist.com is that the Paramount Chief of Gushegu; Gushennaa Abdulai Shitobu has given the Municipal Chief Executive of the area three days to fix the Gushegu-Salaa road.

This follows an order from the MCE for construction work to stop on the road. He insists the road has already been given to a contractor.

The construction was being undertaken by the NDC’s Parliamentary candidate for the Gushegu constituency; Mr. Mohammed Yussif Malimali.

Residents of the area are however not happy with the MCE for stopping the construction. Some describe the MCE’s action as wicked considering the fact that the road has been bad for a long time.

Our source at Gushegu says it took the intervention of the Paramount Chief to avert violence between the people of Salaa and MCE backed by the NPP constituency Chairman on Friday 13th September, 2019.

The MCE would however not comment on the issue.
