Guide wards in career choices -MTN Executive admonishes parents

The Sales and Administrative Executive for MTN-Ghana, Mr Eric Nsarkoh has admonished parents to guide their wards in the choice of career they would want to pursue when they leave school.

This, he believes is extremely important than seeking to impose choices that may be at variance with that of their wards.

Speaking to the media after a brief career counseling session with Senior High School students at the annual MTN Springboard road show in Kumasi, Mr Nsarkoh stressed the need for parents to allow their wards to come up with decisions that bother on the strengths of their minds and abilities.

According to him, parents should allow their wards to own the decisions they make as to what they want to do in future or the profession they want to pursue.

ASSESSMENT:
The MTN Executive, however, advised students to test their strengths and know where they can perfectly excel when making decisions on their future careers.

‘’The decisions you make as to regards the career you want to pursue in future will guide you to fulfilling the kind of future you envisage for yourself’’, Mr Nsarkoh posited.

According to him, a carefully chosen career based on the strengths and academic performance would ultimately lead to a fulfilled life.

‘’ Choose your careers based upon the strengths you identify in yourselves so as to make the lives you lead a fulfilling one’’, the Sales Executive added.

TARGET:
Addressing the students later, Mr Albert Ocran, Executive Director for the Springboard Road show urged students to pursue careers that would make them relevant to the society in future.

According to him, choices stick with people till they die, adding one finds fulfillment in life when he or she makes a choice based upon their abilities.

‘’You will find fulfillment in what you do when the choice you made is equal to your academic strengths and abilities’’, Mr Ocran stressed.

Mr Ocran believes one becomes what he chooses to do in life, adding a career one chose should be done through a thorough and painstaking soul searching exercise.
