Gov’t Incapable of Handling Energy Crisis- Energy Expert

electricityAn energy expert, James Agyei says the Government of Ghana has proven beyond reasonable doubt that it is not capable of handling issues associated with energy.

President John Mahama has promised that Government will resolve in the “shortest possible time”, the dreadful power supply which has become the source of daily frustrations for many Ghanaians.

The president made this observation when he visited some power production plants within the Tema enclave yesterday.

Ghanaians have had to endure erratic power supply for some time now due to unavailability of electricity. A situation most individuals and businesses have described as worrying.

The energy expert, James Agyei in an interview with Kapital news says an immediate solution would be the provision of barges to provide electricity, different from the 1000 megawatts of power government is proposing.

According to him, lack of experience in handling thermal complications has been the problem of the country.

He suggests that, government should negotiate with countries that can provide Ghana with badges so that we pay them as they provide us with the badges.

“The short term measure is that we gets out there, get those people who can provide us with electricity, they will come with their badges, line them up, provide us with the power, then we pay them,” he said.
