GMA not surprised with court ruling on conversion difference

DoctorThe Ghana Medical Association says it is consulting its legal team on their next line of action after an Accra Fast Track High Court ruled against the Association over the payment of conversion difference by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission .

The court also ruled against the National Labour Commission’s earlier directive to the FWSC asking them to pay the conversion difference to members of the GMA.

The National Labour Commission, last year issued a directive to the FWSC to restore the conversion difference of members of the GMA who work in public health facilities.

The FWSC; dissatisfied and aggrieved by the directive, filed an application at the Fast Track High Court seeking a judicial review to quash the directive.

President of the Ghana Medical Association, Dr. Opoku Adusei however tells rawgist.com he is not surprised at the ruling.

“You know now everybody can obtain any verdict at anytime; that’s how we want to run our country”, he said, adding that he is confident in the ability of the Association’s legal advisers to give them the best of legal direction.
