Ghana Association of Writers set to teach and donate to Orphanages in Ashanti

The Ashanti Regional branch of the Ghana Association of Writers (GAW) has announced her second Reading Clinic and book donation to children of the King Jesus Charity Home at Boadi near KNUST.

The event scheduled for 14th February, 2021, seeks to inculcate the habit of reading into the children and also make learning materials available to them.

The Association held a similar event two years ago at the Remar Children’s Home.

The Association is made up of lovers of literature and numeracy from diverse walks of life who come together to enjoy each other’s work and also help promote a literary culture.

President of GAW-ASHANTI region; Mr. Bernard Buachi in an interview invited the General public to participate in the programme in any way they can. He explained that one can volunteer to be present to help the children learn how to read or help with learning materials or cash towards the donation.

The exercise, he revealed will be held yearly as part of the Association’s effort to impact future generations.
