It is expected to be the biggest comedy show ever, on morning radio, as Funny Face teams up with DJ Nii Ayi Tagoe as co-host of the ‘Morning Zoo’ which debuts today, Saturday, September 13, at 7am on Starr103.5 FM in Accra.
Funny Face, one of Ghana’s most celebrated comedians, has a huge following just as DJ Nii Ayi, known to be one of the most daring presenters in the country. The combination of the two as hosts of one radio show has generated a lot of interest even before its debut tomorrow morning.
“When you look at my face, and you take a proper look at Nii Ayi’s head, you would understand why our programme is called ‘Morning Zoo’. It is a freestyle light-hearted show, and it is just for fun and satire. But I would start my show soon.
We would be very daring, and if you take us serious and get a heart attack or cardiac arrest, then you just wanted to commit suicide so no one should come blaming us and saying we have killed someone. How can you allow what happens in a zoo to kill you?” Funny Face told NEWS-ONE when the paper asked him about the show.
Nii Ayi Tagoe has ten years of radio experience and has won the hearts of many listeners with his all round selection of tunes ranging from R&B, Hip Hop, Highlife, Hiplife and Old School music.
He has also hosted a number of talk shows on radio and DJ’d at numerous events. Nii Ayi was the first DJ to play for the popular 020 Live show organised by one of the largest telecommunications giants in the country. He also DJ’d at the MTN hit-maker, ‘Back in the Day’ concert, and at the VGMA, of which he happens to be a board member.
The daring all-round DJ adds to the number of top presenters to join the Starr family as they set the pace for lifestyle radio across the nation.
