MTN Ghana is happy their education on Mobile Money fraud is yielding positive results.
General Manager for MTN’s Northern sector; Nii Adotey Mingle made the revelation after a ceremony held in Kumasi to present prizes to winners of the MoMo@10 promo.
He revealed that they had a hard time reaching all the prize winners; an indication that they are resisting fraudsters. He also revealed that fraud reports have gone down significantly and continues to go down.
He assured MTN customers that MTN will only call them with a specific number (0244300000) if they have won any prize. He also stated emphatically that MTN does not make financial demands on customers who have won prizes and advised customers not to pay any money to anyone who demands money over a prize they have won with MTN.
Three of the winners took home a Hyundai i10 car each with the rest winning e-cash prizes and Samsung television (49,55 and 65 inch) sets.
Nii Adotey Mingle expressed gratitude to the winners for sticking with MTN and helping make the company great.
He revealed that the Ashanti region has won five out of the ten Hyundai i10 vehicles being given out in the promotion; an indication that Ashanti region is vibrant as far as the use of MoMo is concerned.
He assured the customers that MTN will continue to work in their interest.
