Fire guts Takoradi-based Aseda FM

imagesThe offices of Takoradi-based radio station, Aseda FM have been destroyed by a ravaging fire which began on Friday afternoon.

The fire, which manager of the station, Martin Anderson, told Adom News started late afternoon, destroyed some offices of the radio station.

Equipment amounting to millions of Ghana cedis, he said was destroyed by the fire.

Aseda FM is an affiliate of the multimedia group.

Mr. Anderson attributed the cause of the outbreak to a power outage in the area, continuing an air conditioner at the station caught fire when the lights returned.

Despite the intensity of the fire, the manager stated that none of the staff was injured.

“The staff however lost most of their valuables including laptops and huge amounts of money…,” he said.

The manager however promised listeners that the station would be on air very soon.
