31 year old farmer, Kwabena Cletus has been handed a two-year jail term for assaulting his father.
Prosecuting Officer ASP Edmund Badu Agyeman, 23rd November, 2014 around 4pm, the accused’s father heard the accused mercilessly beating his wife.
The accused father decided to intervene to calm the situation.
On spotting his father, the accused got incensed, took out a live firewood from beneath the food that was simmering and gave his old man a thorough beat down until the firewood was all broken.
The wails of the accused’s younger brother drew the attention of neighbours who arrested the accused and handed him over to the Donkro NKwanta Police in the Nkoranza South District.
The accused was arraigned before court where he pled guilty to the charges preferred against him by the
prosecution.
He was convicted on his own plea of guilt to two years imprisonment with hard labor.
