Examination Malpractice is a National Security threat – WAEC pleads with Stakeholders to help fight canker

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has identified examination malpractice as a serious national security threat which needs to be fought drastically and brought to an end with immediate effect before we all face its dire consequences in the nearest future.

Mr. John Kapi, Head of Public Relations at WAEC has revealed that despite the examination body’s efforts to fight against malpractices, the advancement of technology makes cause very difficult and would require the collective efforts of all to win because the Nation risks producing fake Teachers, Doctors, Lawyers, Artisans and other professionals who shall put our lives in jeopardy.

He made this appeal in an interview with the Media in Techiman when WAEC engaged Ghana Education Service Officials, Headmasters, Nananom, Teacher Unions, Christian/Islamic Leadership, P.T T, Security Agencies, Media and other Stakeholders in the Bono East Region to brainstorm on finding solutions to examination malpractices.

For his part, Mr. Daniel Nii Dodoo the Head of Humanities at WAEC revealed that statistics on examination malpractices in the past five years is very alarming that all should come on board to end it at all cost as posterity will not forgive us if our educational system collapses.

Finally, Some Stakeholders who attended the meeting expressed their resolve to help fight against examination malpractices to safeguard the future of our children and unborn generation.
