The chief executive officer for the EKK Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), Evans Kofi KWAFO last Friday led a group of KUMAWOOD stars and representatives of political parties in the Ashanti region to march through the principal streets of Kumasi.

The highly successful and patronized peace march was aimed at preaching peace ahead of the upcoming general elections on December 7.

Starting from the popular Dogo Moro Park at Aboabo, participants walked amidst drumming and dancing for almost 4 hours through the routes of Aboabo, Anloga, Amakom and Asafo to preach peace on the streets.

Clad in Ghana colours of Red, yellow and green and walking at brisk speed with enthusiastic energy film actors such as Lil Wyne, Agya Koo, Michael Afrane and others joined Mr KWAFO and his EKK Foundation members as well as other political party representatives to give meaning to unity ahead of the polls in December.

PEACE CALL:
Speaking at the Heroes Park at the Kumasi Sports stadium after the walk, Mr KWAFO urged the public to take a cue from the unity displayed by participants at the march.

He noted that all members of the society are connected one way or the other as family.

This, he said makes it imperative for every member of the society to preach peace and to pursue same.

Violence, Mr KWAFO said has never yielded any positive outcomes and therefore urged all participants to go back home and become ambassadors of peace.

PARTY REPS AND FILM STARS.
Representing the NDC party at the walk, Michael Afrane, film actor and former Assembly man said elections should never be about violence.

He noted that the show of preference for which ever political party and its ideas do not warrant the display of hate or violence.

Agya Koo, actor and representative of the NPP rallied the crowd to shun violence but preach peace in the home and at the work place so that the public will become aware of the need to maintain a healthy environment ahead of the December elections.

Lil Wyne, another Kumawood actor whose real name is Kwadwo Nkansah called on the public to preach peace all day till the elections were done with so that all could return to their normal lives after December 7.
