In his quest to ease congestion in some of the Senior High Schools in Ghana, President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo is constructing what he calls “Emergency SHS” in various communities across the country.

These “Emergency SHS” are ultra-modern facilities designed to make school activities comfortable for the school community.

Awuku Addo Okyeame reports that one of such buildings is being constructed speedily at Awaso- Asempanaye in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai municipality.

According to him, the civil Engineer and clerk of works who represented the consultant on the project site; Ebenezer Yiwo recounted that they have so far tackled ten major buildings including the Principal and Vice Principal’s bungalows, administration block, male and female dormitories, classroom blocks, science lab, Assembly hall and a dining hall which is expected to be the largest in the Western and Western North regions at a cost of GHC50 million.

Mr Yiwo said the project will be completed in ten months considering the current pace of work. He added that the school will be opened for students to enroll at the start of the academic year in September.
