The Head of Modern Languages Department in the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Professor Charles Ofosu Marfo is now president-elect of the University Teachers Association of Ghana, KNUST branch.
Prof. Charles Marfo on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, emerged winner of the UTAG-KNUST branch presidential election. He secured 405 votes which represent 92.88% beating his closest contender Dr. Amakye Boateng who polled 31 votes representing 7.11%.
Professor Charles Marfo until his election was the vice president of UTAG KNUST. He will now take over from Professor Eric K. Fokuo, former President of UTAG-KNUST.
Current Vice Dean of KNUST, Dr. Ohene Addai-mensah was also voted as Vice president-elect in Tuesday’s election. He obtained 229 of the votes defeating Dr. Derrick Asamoah Owusu who garnered 217 votes.
Dr. Yao Elikem Ayekple was also confirmed as UTAG-KNUST executive member-elect.
