Don’t try anything funny-Ashanti NDC fires back at Wontumi

The NDC in the Ashanti region has fired a warning to the NPP’s Ashanti regional Chairman.

The warning is in connection with statements made by the NPP Chairman; Bernard Antwi Boasiako that he will stop former President John Mahama from entering schools in the Ashanti region. The NPP Chair is said to have also blamed the former President for having a hand in the chaos at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology  (KNUST).

A statement issued by the NDC in the region and signed by the party’s Communication Officer; Abass Nurudeen explained that former President John Mahama is as concerned about the happenings at KNUST as any other stakeholder.

“First and foremost, the welfare and security of SHS students is a matter of great concern to all Ghanaians including former president John Mahama.therefore, the NDC,as a key stakeholder in the governance system, will continue to bring to the fore avoidable hardships that SHS students have had to endure as a result of the intransigence and incompetence of the Akufo addo-led administration.”

They believe that Chairman Wontumi lacks understanding regarding the issues and went on to describe him as a comic chairman.

“We will not cast the first stone. But any slightest attack on the rank and file of the NDC in the region will be resisted with an equal measure of force,if not more” they cautioned and added that Chairman Wontumi has no capacity to determine the rules of engagement aside the law.

They are urging their members to disregard utterances by the Ashanti NPP Chairman.
