Don’t disrupt electoral process with your veto- KNUST SRC electoral commission

knustThe Electoral commissioner of the Students’ Representative Coucil of the KNUST has cautioned all leaders on campus against using their veto to interrupt any of the electoral processes.

Over the years, student leaders by their actions interrupt the electoral processes and sometimes, tamper with the credibility of the final results and as a result, end up in court.

Last year, the dean of students, KNUST interrupted the electoral processes which resulted in a massive demonstration by students with consequent court issues.

The EC has said this time, his administration has laid down rules to deal with deviants and has cautioned all, not to disrupt the election.

He further debunked the allegations raised against him regarding his unilateral decisions and operations without recourse to his deputies.

He says his commission, made up of the various colleges, faculty and hall electoral commissioners, and representatives from the non residential constituencies has already met about seven 7 times this semester.

Some members of the Parliamentary council of the SRC, KNUST on the 1st of March, 2015, raised an allegation in an interview with Focus fm’s John Mensah on the Leadership corner show that, the Electoral commissioner of the KNUST works alone.
