The regional Police commander DCOP Nathan Kofi Boakye made the call at an emergency conference of all district commanders in the region yesterday. The emergency meeting was necessitated by the recent highway robbery at Dadieso and two recent violent shoot-outs at Ashtown and Tepa.
Addressing the Police chiefs, DCOP Kofi Boakye indicated he felt let down by the criminal records in the region despite efforts by the Police.
He reiterated it was time the police stamped its authority on crime with urgency it deserves.
DCOP Kofi Boakye further revealed that key murder suspects had been arrested in connection with the killing of the Assembly member for Akomfre at Atwima Boko and the killing of a watchman at Kwadaso Ohwim.
