CPP MP Aspirant pledges support for Samuel Sarpong

Samuel_Sarpong0The 2012 parliamentary candidate for the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) at the Nhyiaeso constituency, Mr Emmanuel Dapaah has pledged his support to the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) Dr Samuel Sarpong.

In a release copied to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper in Kumasi after a radio interview on Fox Fm, a popular Kumasi based radio station, Mr Dapaah explained ‘the NDC candidate possessed all the potential of a better leader than those contesting’.

”Having being a Regional Minister and also a former Mayor of Kumasi where he presided over so much infrastructural development for Kumasi the NDC parliamentary candidate has a better appreciation of the work ahead as an MP than his other competitors”, Dr Dapaah noted.

With the CPP failing to field a candidate for the Nhyiaeso constituency, Mr Dapaah who claimed he had about 5, 000 supporters at the area rallied them to support the candidature of the veteran Mayor and State Housing Manager, Samuel Sarpong.

REASONS:
With the constituency boasting of more youth, the CPP man said securing jobs for them would be a simple exercise for the former Mayor of Kumasi.

According to him, ‘Dr Sarpong secured over 1,000 jobs for many of the youth in Kumasi during his tenure as Kumasi Metro Chief Executive’.

He noted that with the non-discriminatory attitude of the NDC candidate, the youth as well as the aged would begin to see the kind of development they had for long envisaged for the Nhyiaeso constituency.

Mr Dapaah pledged to work with the NDC aspirant to ensure he wins the upcoming crucial parliamentary poll.

CHALLENGE:
Even though he admitted the Nhyiaeso seat has been the preserve of the New Patriotic Party, the CPP man believed the challenge could be surmounted by Dr Sarpong.

According to him, the entry of Dr Sarpong had brought some life into the youth who continue to follow the NDC candidate wherever he goes.

He believed the youth alone could help the NDC candidate upstage the NPP since he claimed the same had been helping Dr Richard Anane to win the seat three times.

Mr Dapaah, therefore, rallied members of the constituency to rather vote for a competent person in Dr Sarpong to ensure total development for the area.
