COVID-19: Railways Development Ministry fights virus

The Ministry of Railway Development headed by Hon. Joe Ghartey has donated items worth thousands of cedis to the Chiefs, Municipal and District Assemblies of the Eastern Region.

The items included veronica buckets, cooking oil, hand sanitizers, packs of drinking water, plastic bowls, bags of rice, tissues among many others.

The Ministry and its allies embarked on the gesture to help government and other concerned partners in the fight against the novel COVID-19 virus.

The Railways Development Ministry and the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council headed by the Minister, Eric Kwakye Dafour visited the Traditional Authorities of the region and Assemblies to donate items towards the fight.

The visit took the team to Akwamufie, Asuogyaman Assembly, Lower Manya Assembly and the Yilo Krobo Municipal Assembly. Traditional Councils within the enclave were also empowered with items needed for the fight.

The Minister who doubles as the MP for Essikado Ketan, Hon Joe Ghartey during most of his presentations said government is working hard to sustain lives of Ghanaians since lives are very precious.

On his Part, the Regional Minister Hon. Eric Kwakye Darfour advised the citizenry on the need to adhere to precautionary measures in fighting the canker.
