Court to rule on NDC, Didiyie case on Thursday

Asiedu-Nketia-courtA Human Rights Court has adjourned the case in which an aggrieved member of the party is seeking an injunction on the National Democratic Congress(NDC) upcoming congress to Thursday.

Emmanuel Aboagye Didieye filed a law suit, after the General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketsia announced a decision by the party’s Electoral Committee to drop him from the race.

The Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, George Lawson has said Didieye was disqualified because he failed to meet the requirements of the party but the latter is insisting the party unjustifiably disqualified him.

The much anticipated congress will be called off if the court rules in Didieye’s favour.

This is not the first time the party has been dragged to court by an aggrieved member.

A number of constituency elections had to either be called off or postponed after some aggrieved members in a number of regions including the Greater Accra and Ashanti regions dragged the party to court.

In September, a Human Rights Court placed an injunction on three constituencies in the Ashanti region just when the party was gearing up for its constituency elections.
