The executives of the University hall (Katanga) and the Unity Hall have signed a memorandum of understanding as a measure to prevent recurrent unhealthy rivalry where some injury cases have been recorded in the past years.
Speaking at the press conference organized by the two male halls at KNUST in collaboration with KNUST SRC, the SRC President, Boakye Nyamekye Isaac condemned attacks on fellow students from the two male halls and denied that the recent attack on some students of KNUST was motivated as a result of the rivalry between the two halls.
He describes the reports of incidents as mere coincidence which should be condemned. He added that the University is putting measures in place to punish the perpetrators.
He further stated that the victims have been treated and are going through counselling by the school’s counselling unit to prevent psychological trauma.
The president of the Unity Hall, Patrick Adjei and the President of the University hall, Frank Brako on their part, expressed their commitment to ensure that peace co-exist among residents of the two halls.
They made these statements at a press conference organized on Friday, 18th February at the Great hall conference room at KNUST.
