Christians must aim at excellence – Dr. Mensa Otabil

The General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Rev Dr Mensa Otabil has rallied Christians to strive to be excellent at what they do.

He noted that Christians at every field must be on top of their game and should be pointed to as being excellent with their work.

Speaking at the Spiritual Empowerment Program at Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC) over the weekend, the visiting ICGC leader said Christians must stand out for what they do.

Dr Otabil argued that the best form of witnessing for Christ was to act and work like he did while on earth.

‘’The best way of witnessing about Christ to the world is to ensure our work and attitude does the talking on our behalf’’, Dr Otabil stated.

WEALTH AND POVERTY:

Preaching on wealth and poverty on Saturday night, the ICGC vision carrier noted that God never designed that his people should be poor.

He recalled the wealth and status of some Biblical patriarchs such as Abraham, Jacob and David, indicating that none of them was poor but stupendously rich in material stuff.

The concept that Christians should be paupers or poor and timid people, the ICGC leader stressed is not scriptural and urged the Church to discard that thought with the contempt it deserved.

Dr Otabil posited that Christ Jesus by his death on the cross of Calvary purchased the redemption of mankind and through same death comes his wisdom, wealth, grace and healing.

‘’Christians should make no apology for being wealthy because Christ Jesus by his death nailed poverty and everything demeaning to same and has made us Kings and Queens to command power and riches to support the ministry of soul winning’’, Dr Otabil ignited.

POSTIVE OUTLOOK:

Preaching on the final day of Sunday, the respected clergy man encouraged the church to stay calm when difficult times come upon them.

He noted that just as God took the people of Israel through the floods and the desert paths he was still testing his people how to live in tough periods as well as how to live in abundance.

The ICGC Founder posited that God uses tough times to shape his people to be dependent on him all days.

Similarly, the Bible preacher intimated that God gives his people abundance so we could share as well as use same to build his Kingdom through the perpetuation of the Gospel in the world since his will is that no one should perish.

‘’ Our maker promises us that he will be with us when we pass through the floods as well as when we walk through the desert because his will for us is to ensure that we dominate the world and do exploits for his name sake’’, Dr Otabil passionately posited.
