Celestine Donkor chastises “arrogant” gospel musicians

Ghana News-Ghanaian Gospel musician Celestine Donkor has chastised Gospel artistes who seek glory for themselves instead of Jesus Christ.

Celestine, who was speaking in an interview with Eli Kharis on the Rythmz Live show on GhOne TV advised gospel musicians to eschew arrogance and be humble.

“Remember that when you have been elevated, you have to come down for people to pluck the blessing from your blessing tree. If you are so high up that people cannot relate to you, then you are not God-centered. That cannot be the spirit of God”, she said.

Though she would not mention names, Celestine Donkor complained bitterly about some artistes who look down on other artistes and even rubbished her attempts to connect with them as musicians within the same niche.

She explains that the industry needs musicians who are not just performers but truly born again and understand the word of God and have made Jesus the center of their career. “By their fruits you will know them. You can know them by the stuff they post on social media and other stuff they do”, she said.

She recalled how she became a musician accidentally. “I accompanied a friend to the studio, I wasn’t a musician. I sat at the reception and whiles my friend was singing, I sang along. I attracted the attention of the sound engineer. He said I had a great voice and asked me if wanted to record”.
