Bryan Acheampong rubbishes land owning claims

Ghana News-The Minister of State in-charge of National Security, Hon Bryan Acheampong has rubbished claims by some two newspapers that he owns a disputed land in the Tema metropolis.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper, Hon Acheampong described the claims by the papers as baseless, malicious and complete falsehood.

The publications, the Minister noted is a ploy by his detractors to side-track him from the very mandate assigned to him by the President to deal with the land guard menace in the country.

He cautioned that nothing will stop him from following through the efforts of his outfit and urged that no one misconstrues his unrepentant attitude to achieving results in curbing the land guard menace.

‘’I do not own land in Tema neither do I know any community called Gbetsele in Tema let alone own land there’’ Hon Acheampong posited fiercely.

CAUTION:

Cautioning the two newspapers who are spearheading these false publications, Hon Acheampong said the newspapers the Chronicle and Daybreak Newspaper are engaged in bad journalism practice.

He wondered why these papers will deploy weird strategies like pitching to get their papers sold on the market.

Hon Acheampong urged the papers to desist from their shameful acts and advised that they do not operate to drag the name of people whose enterprise and commitment is to work for Ghana in the mud.

The Minister further admonished journalists not to be used as instruments of destruction or the perpetration of falsehood.

‘’I do not have a related party interest in any land in Tema or Gbetsele and I also want to advice that our efforts at the ministry to deal with the land guard menace should not be misconstrued’’, Hon Acheampong cautioned.

DETERMINATION:

Hon Acheampong assured the public of his commitment to work to achieve the set targets of the Ministry of National Security.

He promised not to allow himself to be cowed into submission by these malicious and false publications.

These publications, he noted are nothing but calculated ploy to discourage him from following through the mandate of his outfit.

‘’No journalist can intimidate this quest of my ministry and I hope journalists will not allow themselves to be used to thwart the efforts government is making to end the land guard menace’’, Hon Achemapong passionately stressed.
