Betty Mould is raising money for Mahama outside Ghana- Ken Agyapong

Betty-Mould-IddrisuNew Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong claims former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Betty Mould-Iddrissu, is soliciting financial support from South Africa to ensure President John Dramani’s victory in the upcoming 2016 general elections in order to escape being tried for causing financial loss to the state.

Speaking on Friday on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show, the MP claimed that the former A-G is soliciting funds to maintain the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in government and escape jail because of her involvement in the controversial Ghc51 million judgement debt paid to businessman Alfred Woyome.

“She is soliciting money from South Africa to support and maintain President Mahama in power because of her involvement in the controversial judgement debt,” Ken Agyapong alleged.

An Accra High Court presided over by Justice John Ajet-Nassam on Thursday March 12, 2015 acquitted and discharged Mr. Woyome, who was facing trial for causing financial loss to the state and defrauding the state by false pretense.

The controversial payment was made during the tenure of the former Attorney General, despite objections from then Finance Minister Kwabena Duffuor and late President John Atta Mills.

Mrs. Mould-Iddrisu’s name surfaced when Mr. Woyome – a businessman and a financier of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) – presented letters written by her to then Finance Minister, Kwabena Duffuor.
