Asokwa Residents enjoy free food from NPP women’s wing

The women’s wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Asokwa last Friday treated residents to sumptuous and finger-licking meals including ‘akaw’ and ‘tuozaafi’.

The wing also donated some items including wheel-chairs and blankets to pregnant women at the maternity wards of the Kumasi South Hospital (Agogo hospital).

The gesture, the women’s organizer, Georgina Obiri Yeboah recounted is a way of drawing the public closer to the NPP.

Christened ‘the cookout and float program’, the wing’s leader believes the initiative could also serve as a tool for outdoor campaign.

She noted that human beings are most often attracted to receiving free things as well as food, adding the party wants to capitalize on that and tell the NPP story to residents and the public.

‘’We in the Asokwa NPP believe the best form of getting people’s attention is to offer them free things and food and this is what the wing has decided to do so as to get the attention of all in the municipality’’, Madam Gina noted.

HOSPITAL REPRESENTATIVE:

Receiving the hospital equipment and items on behalf of management, Mrs Margaret Abankwa, Senior Nursing Officer at Kumasi South Hospital thanked the NPP wing for the gesture.

She indicated the dire need of such items at the unit and commended the NPP group for thinking about the welfare of people who visit to access care.

Madam Abankwah used the occasion to commend the MP for Asokwa for assisting in the construction of the biggest and spacious maternity unit for the hospital.

She urged other groups and individuals to emulate the gesture of the women’s wing so that together they could sustain activities as well as maintain the hospital’s facilities.

SECRETARY:
