Asokwa Municipal Assembly gives to Muslims

The Asokwa Municipal Assembly (ASKMA) led by its Chief Executive Executive, Chief Akwannuasa Gyimah last Friday toured four mosques in the municipality to present some food items to Muslims involved in the Ramadan fast.

Mosques visited were the ones at the Kumasi Abattoir, Old Asokwa, Kaase and the Atonsu-S-line.

Accompanied on the tour by the Presiding Member (PM), Elliot Fosu Bannor, the NPP constituency chairman, Reverend Fosu Nkromah as well some staff and workers of the Assembly, the MCE asked for prayers for the President, officials of the Assembly as well as residents of the Asokwa community.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer newspaper at the Kaase mosque, Chief Akwannuasa Gyimah said it was important that the Assembly shows concern for faith based groups and support them when the Assembly is able.

”We as an assembly decided to show interest in the holy exercise our Muslim folks have embarked upon and we have brought some food items to support them in their sacred journey”, Chief Akwannuasa noted.

SUPPORT:
Mincing no words the MCE mentioned plans to support all groups who seek for the assistance of the Assembly for a good course.

He noted the doors of the Assembly is opened to all faith based groups as well as others whose preoccupation is to seek for the development and welfare of the people in the municipality.

Chief Akwannuasa asked faith based groups including Muslims to strive to live at peace with all men.

The Asokwa community, the MCE noted could best develop when people learn to tolerate others in their social and religious settings.

”It is good for Asokwa residents to tolerate each other despite the social or political differences they may have”, the Asokwa MCE stressed.

CLERIC:
The leader at the Atonsu Mosque, Mallam Abu Hassan commended the Asokwa Municipal Assembly for thinking about them.

The show of kindness, he noted brings  blessing and favour on those who act same.

He asked officials at the Assembly to lobby for government projects so as to help develop the Asokwa community.

He however commended the Assembly for deciding to build a three classroom block and offices for the Islamic school at the compound of the mosque.
