Asokwa Assembly celebrates Eid with Muslims

Ghana News-Staff, workers and assembly members at the Asokwa Municipal Assembly last Friday celebrated EID with Muslim groups in the constituency,

Led by the Presiding Member (PM) of the Assembly, the staff and workers toured about 15 mosques at Atonsu, Kaase, Ahensan and Asokwa to give to various Muslim groups in the community.

At separate ceremonies to present bags of rice, cooking oil, sardines and corned beef, Mr Elliot Fosu Barnor, PM for Asokwa Municipal Assembly commended Muslims for diligently going through the motions of the 30 day fast.

The observance of Ramadan, he noted is important to every Muslim since it presents believers an opportunity to purify their souls.

‘’The Asokwa Municipal Assembly is very aware of the significance of Ramadan and it is important as you break your fast and eat today we also show our love by donating food so we all can celebrate the EID in happiness’’., Mr Barnor intimated.

MP:

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper, a representative of the Member of Parliament for Asokwa, Madam Patricia Appiagyei thanked Muslims in the constituency for praying for the people in the community.

These prayers, she stressed has enabled residents of Asokwa to enjoy peace as they go about their duties and chores.

She asked that people in the constituency continue to offer their support and prayers to her as she lobbies for more development projects for the Asokwa community.

Madam Appiagyei, a Deputy Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation commended Muslims for embarking on the 30 day energy sapping Ramadan and wished that they enjoy the Eid as they pray for more blessings from Allah.

MUSLIM CLERIC:

Alhaji Karim Sagoe, Imam at the Atonsu- S-Line mosque praised the Assembly for thinking about the members of the Muslim community.

He commended the PM for finding time and resources to give to them during the Ramadan and also towards the celebration of the EID.

He assured them of more grace from Allah to enable them pursue the agenda they have set to develop the Asokwa Municipality.

At the Kaase Abattoir, Muslims belonging to the NPP party thanked the Assembly for thinking about them and asked that the Party continuously remember their efforts so as to encourage them to work and defend the party’s agenda for the people of the Zongo communities.
