Ashanti regional police command unhappy with judicial service for doing little in the fight against crime

police4The Ashanti regional police command is unhappy with the judicial service of Ghana for not helping the police command in their bid to fight crime in Ashanti region.

According to the Command, whiles the service is working hard to flash out criminals and notorious armed robbers in the region some judges in the region have failed to support their activities.

The police claim some criminals on the police list supposed to be imprisoned have been released by the courts without the consent of the service adding these practices of the judicial service has demoralized the police force.

The Police say 50 armed robbers arrested recently have all been granted bail though they are not illegible for bail.

Superintendent Peter Baba, Ashanti regional Police Crime Officer made this known when he interracted with journalists in the region.

Meanwhile, the Ashanti regional police command has arrested an 18 year boy who together with two other armed robbers attacked a pastor and his family at their residence at Dompoase-kuwait a suburb of Kumasi.

Jeff Appiah and his colleagues robbed the family of three phones, GHC70.00 and later raped their daughter.

Ashanti regional crime officer, Superintendent Peter Baba said the suspect has been arrested based on police intelligence.

He adds that the police have also arrested one armed robber who robbed a family at Hill Top and killed their private security guard
