‘Asamoah dangerous in midfield’ – Inter coach Spalletti

Kwadwo Asamoah’s performance against Zenith St. Petersburg in a pre-season friendly has got his head coach Luciano Spalletti talking about his technical abilities in midfield.

Asamoah, 29, featured prominently in midfield for Milan as they drew 3-3 with the Russian giant on Saturday.

The former Juventus winger started the game alongside Roberto Gagliardini in 4-2-3-1 formation, which saw him bomb forward occasionally.

“The team is more compact, we feel better and the lads have understood when to attack and when to defend. Asamoah can be very dangerous if he plays in midfield, he really did well.”

Spalletti reserved some praise for Brazilian left back Dalbert after an impressive display.

“Dalbert? He was more serene, we area always trying to score goals especially in this kind of games. Now we need to rest because we’ve been working a lot. It’s vital to rest your body in order to rest your mind as well,” he added.

The Ghanaian international could revert back to his midfield duties with his new club after being deployed as a wing-back for Juventus for six seasons.

Asamoah and Inter will face Sheffield United on Tuesday in their next pre-season game.
