Asabee joins VEEP to pay homage to Otumfuo at Akwasidae

ASABEE JOINS VEEP TO PAY HOMAGE TO OTUMFUO AT AKWASIDAE.

Aspiring national chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon Stephen Asamoah Boateng last Sunday joined the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and many other dignitaries in government to pay homage to the Overlord of Asanteman, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as the latter marked the last Akwasidae of the year.

In a resplendent gold kente cloth, Asabee as the Chairman hopeful is popularly called responded to loud cheers when he reached the durbar grounds at the Manhyia Palace.

Joining the queue which included the Vice President, in a routine greeting, Asabee took his turn to greet Otumfuo as the crowd in spontaneity shouted his name with deafening sound.

Seated in the midst of the President of the Ghana Bar Association, Yaw Boafo and Kumasi Mayor,  Sam Pyne,  Asabee intermittently responded to loud cheers from  some members of the gathering who called out his name as ” incoming Chairman”.

IMPRESSION:
Speaking to this reporter after the event, Asabee said he was happy to have participated in the last Akwasidae for the year.

Popularly called “Adae tokye”, Asabee noted that Akwasidae was a significant occasion that reflects the glory of the Asantehene and Asanteman.

He noted that at such occasions Otumfuo reflects his glory and power as his subjects in complete humility pay homage to him in good kente colours.

” I am happy to have seen this day and participated in same because the Asantehene is an embodiment of wisdom and peace”, Hon Boateng said.

DESIRE:
Hon Boateng said he was determined to reflect same passion of leadership when he gets the nod as national chairman of the NPP.

He noted that good leaders such as the Asantehene attract praise from the work they do.

The National chairman of the NPP must be someone whose vision and energy rubs on the supporters, he noted passionately.

“Having learnt the art of communication and grassroot work since the time of Victor Owusu and other stalwarts of the party including President Kufuor who made me Information Minister, I possess every trait that would make the party bond together and work as a collective force”, Asabee passionately stressed.
