The competence of the District Chief Executive of the Ahafo Ano North District as head of security in the district has been questioned by a Kumasi based radio morning show host.
Kumasi based Ultimate FM morning show host, Prince Minkah in an interview with the DCE sought to find out vulnerabilities that may have accounted for the cell break at the Tepa Police station among other answers.
The DCE; David Addai Amankwai could however not describe the Tepa Police station nor tell what is happening in the aftermath of the unfortunate security breach. He told Ultimate FM he was yet to be briefed during a DISEC meeting several hours after the incident.He also could not immediately tell what had become of other inmates who could or did not escape.
The DCE also insisted there was no panic among the people of the area as the suspected criminals remain at large. He told the host the escape of the prisoners did not come as a surprise to him because the Police is a human institution.
The fact that the DCE had to refer everything to a future meeting with other DISEC members caused the morning show host to question his competence as head of security in the District.
Two suspects are at large after they managed to escape from the Tepa Police station where they were being held on Tuesday. They allegedly managed to smuggle in tools with which they cut through the thick bars of the cell.
