Akwanuassah Gyimah is Asokwa MCE nominee

Ghana Politics News-One of Ashanti’s finest entrepreneurs, Akwanuassah Gyimah has been nominated as Municipal Chief Executive for the newly created Asokwa Municipal Assembly.

A loyal member of the NPP and an ardent admirer of the current President, Mr Gyimah served as Asokwa constituency’s 1st Vice-Chairman from 2014 to 2018.

A man of the grassroot supporters in Asokwa, Mr Gyimah when confirmed by the Asokwa Municipal Assembly as MCE will have the opportunity to serve the constituency he hails from and has worked all his life.

In a release signed by the Local Government Minister, Hajia Alima Mahama and copied to the Ghanaian Observer newspaper, the regional minister is notified to liaise with the Ashanti regional Electoral Commission to draw up plans to hold a confirmation ceremony for the Asokwa Assembly from the 19th of July, 2018.

REACTIONS:
As at press time Thursday morning, scores of people who had chanced upon the release by the Local Government Minister had been pouring in with their congratulatory messages to the former Canada based Ghanaian entrepreneur.

Nana Agyeman, a member of the Asokwa NPP branch said he could not sleep early hearing the news the previous night.

According to him, he had been overcome with joy that he decided to spend the night thanking God.

Dr Francis Boakye, another member of the NPP who could not hide his joy commended the President for choosing a man who knows the Asokwa Municipality through and through to head it as MCE.

RESPONSE:
Speaking exclusively to the Ghanaian Observer newspaper when yours truly informed him about the news, a calm mannered Akwanuassah Gyimah thanked God for the opportunity to serve Ghana.

He also expressed appreciation to the President for finding him worthy to head the Asokwa Municipal Assembly as

MCE.
Mr Gyimah commended the Asokwa MP, Madam Patricia Appiagyei for fighting to get Asokwa a Municipal status.
He rallied both party and the people of Asokwa especially the elected Assembly members in the constituency to help make the process of confirmation a smooth one so they could plan for the development of Asokwa.

”My brother, i have not seen the letter myself but i cannot doubt you so all i will say is that am grateful to God and the President for finding me worthy to be nominated to serve the kind people of Asokwa as MCE”, a calm Akwanuassah Gyimah noted.
