Afigya Kwabre: DCE speaks hope into the people

MR.  KWASI KARIKARI Acheamfuor, District Chief Executive  (DCE) for Afigya Kwabre, has expressed his determination to lift the Assembly from where his predecessor left it,  to a whole new height for the benefit of the people.

He said he would count on members of the Assembly and all the stakeholders to support him, as he assured them of his readiness to operate an “open door administration” devoid of political vindictiveness and partnership.

Delivering his address at the Assembly’s first General Meeting of the third session of the Assembly, he revealed that, the Assembly is endowed with human resources including professionals like politicians, Educationist, Journalists and business men and women, and for that matter, the need to come out with their rich experiences individually and as professionals to help lift the standard of the district to the benefit of the people.

He says his very first priority is to develop an integrated and comprehensive database for the district. He explains that the benefits of such a system will be an invaluable asset to the district.

He indicated that, a database on physical developments, human resources and business potentials will greatly help the district to properly plan and prepare budgets.

He said the database will facilitate the unearthing of the potentials of the district to investors at the click of a button, and therefore, made a passionate appeal to members to support the exercise through the registration of houses and facilities within their areas when the time comes.

He disclosed that,  the district is relatively calm with the exception of some pockets of issues in some communities which he observed the Security Agencies are handling. He was however not happy with the emergence of land Guards at a Quarry Site at Mowire and other areas in the district. He also said that the rise of armed robbery at Mpobi and its environs poses serious threat to the peace and harmony of the district, and entreated members of the Assembly to provide vital information to enable the Police combat crime.

He charged members of the Assembly to secure accommodation within their communities for Police personnel to enable them live within the communities. He believes such a move will help the police to provide security and facilitate the posting of Police personnel to the district.

He stated that, the provision of Education is a pivot of every developing country. He reminded the people that the NPP government campaigned strongly on bettering education  in the country to the point of promising Free Senior High Schools (SHS). He stated his vision to ensure that children from the district take full  advantage of such life changing opportunity, while his administration concentrates on improving the quality of basic education in the district so as to get more pupils qualifying for entry into Senior High Schools to enjoy such laudable policy.

He promised also to follow up on the appropriate authorities to enable the district have its own National Health Insurance Authority  (NHIA) office and not an Agency.
