A 35 year-old man gets 6 years for stealing ECG meter 

Ghana Crime News-ECG officials at Ejisu have arrested one a 35 year-old man for stealing electricity meters for onward sale to the public.

Mr. David Nyamedor, Technical Officer at Ejisu, explained that, their office had information about some people selling illegal meters at a reduced cost of  400.00 Cedis to clients. They were alarmed to note that the meters did not come from the ECG, hence embarked on an operation to get those meters out of the system.

The suspect; Patrick, got a hint of their plans and bolted but was later arrested and handed over to the Ejisu Police who arraigned him before court.

Patrick has since been sentenced to a prison term of Six (6) years with hard labour.

Ejisu District Manager; Jonathan Danzerl cautioned the public to desist from acquiring meters outside the ECG offices. He assured customers that acquiring a meter is not a difficult process now.
