Ghana News-CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan (NEIP) Lawyer John Kumah had a difficult time on radio substantiating claims he made about the number of factories set up by the government under the 1 District, 1 Factory initiative.

Lawyer John Kumah had posted videos and photos of the opening of a completed factory on his Facebook wall and claimed that 19 factories had been completed.

Meanwhile the Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kyeremanteng had announced before parliament that over 300 proposals had been screened and forwarded to the appropriate financial institutions for funding.

In an interview with Nana Kwadwo Jantuah on Oyerepa Breakfast Show, Mr. Kumah could not mention the factories except for the particular one he witnessed.

He rather directed the host and anyone concerned to go to the 1D1F Secretariat to find out about the remaining 18.

“For those who are saying we have built nothing, I have given you evidence of one. For the 18, go to the 1D1F secretariat”, he said.

The host; Nana Kwadwo Jantuah who was unhappy a lawyer of John Kumah’s standing was peddling statements he could not substantiate prodded him further but was unsuccessful in getting the CEO to substantiate his claims.

“If someone says something, and you repeat it, are you the one to produce evidence?”, he questioned the host and insisted that it was not his job to confirm the claims he had trumpeted.
